Title: variation on a middling bat.
Post by: blindowl on February 21, 2019, 01:51:19 PM
not personally seen one like this before.

Looks a bit gimmicky and poorly crafted but perhaps an interesting variation on the 'middling' bat.

Cool! That would certainly cause some raised eyebrows at the nets...

Could also see those sharp corners coming off quite soon too. Not for me.

What’s the benifit over a middling bat, the idea that a thick edge near the middle is better than one not near the middle?

not sure there 'is' any benefit really Kulli.

However - Might be that you can 'play defensive' with the middling bit but be a bit more expansive with the extended area if it is in your attacking arc.

Do people practice powerful drives cuts etc with a middling bat?  I've always assumed they were for getting your eye in in a fairly defensive/controlled way.

:D

Why not attach a square piece of wood to a lacrosse stick that'd make it so much more challenging.

Just use the regular bat for practice, use soft balls (Bola JR balls are great) to improve your timing. I am not a fan of practice bats.
