I managed to get hold of a camera and film myself batting at a training session yesterday. It's not the best net I've ever had, and the structure of the session meant I didn't get to hit too many balls. This winter I've been working on trying to get in line with the ball more on the back foot, and would just like some input from the cricketing minds on here. That being said here's the link: https://youtu.be/M5Qy7Xk8C9I

Not qualified to talk on your technique - but its interesting to see that your club also has a lad who bowls exclusively bouncers indoor

Not an expert but anything straight and on your legs I presume you struggle. Your front foot seems to go towards leg stump before the ball gets bowled.

Surprisingly one of my best shots is the straight drive, where I do struggle is hitting anything on leg stump, I can't play the leg glance to save my life.
@NT50 I don't mind the bouncers as it's good practice for when we go outdoors. He's actually a very good swing bowler but unfortunately didn't bowl particularly full this session.

good video anyways it sometimes good to see how you bat so you can improve

You watch the ball and play it very late (well, one of the bowler seems quicks as well) which is good. You seem pretty stable and have strong bat swing.
I think you could play with a little more freedom, you want to judge the line/length early and get in strong position for a clean contact and shot alignment. The lines that bowlers were bowling were good (except for a few short and wide outside off, the quick bowler maintained good lines) and I'd have played a lot of drive in the "V", both from front foot (straight drives) and back foot (punch) .
If I were you, I'd work on alignment of my shots. That quick bowler was bowling well and it'd be fun to practice against his bowling.

Good effort. Love facing the sidearm as it generates some random deliveries at decent pace. You almost seem to move a little to leg/back away slightly first, so when it's on your pads you're cramped up. On the flip side of that I think it then seems like you struggle to transfer your weight into shots outside off. Could be taking out of my @#$& tho! Well done for putting the vid up and keep going!

Wow, must have been so popular it has broken YouTube. I get a message 'server error', Video unavailable. Funnily enough, an old friend of mine who was (and is) a keen fast bowler from Trinidad used to work for YouTube and was responsible for making sure everything ran seamlessly.
Good on you for having the courage to post it! Don't think I'd dare post my batting to this forum...

I wouldn't worry about that mate, get some videos up.
A lot of people on here spend way more than they should do on willow and nowhere near enough on coaching to use the thing in the first place ;)
