doesn't look like its on sky? last year all surrey games were streamed on youtube, hoping theres some games on tv this year
-
I'd imagine sky make a loss (per game) by showing these games on tv - unfortunately very little of the population care about county cricket.
Sky's cricket coverage is declining - pointless having a dedicated cricket channel when they've lost the rights to most cricket
-
just found this, sweet FA on telly

Sky will be showing a selection of county white ball cricket as per usual.
They may have a CC game before the test summer starts and usually one at the end of season.
Most counties now stream footage of CC for free, some even sync it to the radio coverage.

Any wonder people come out and say the longer format is dying

Sky's viewing figures for test match cricket are fairly alarming so it is no surprise that a commercial broadcaster isn't going to make a loss televising county game. It is only really if the counties themselves want to make games available to watch that you can see any amount of first class cricket being made available

Viewing figures for all formats is alarming.. let’s not pretend white ball is healthy

Phrase it slightly differently - any other live sporting event televised on tv with fewer people in the crowd/no atmosphere?
Can’t be the most appealing thing to market - not even profitable for the gambling institutes to sponsor/stream

For me
During the summer when a lot of the cricket is on sky sports, i dont really get much chance to watch it, and I imagine it's the same for a lot of other fans for similar reasons.
Think about it a test match starts during the week, so usually when most cricket fans are at work, then goes on into the weekend where now many fans are playing or otherwise busy with family. Then may finish again on a week day when people at work (if it ever goes 5 days) so the audience it would attract isnt really able to watch it.
Then if you look at the shorter format televised stuff, it's a similar problem. Games start early evenings when people not home from work yet. Then more specifically to myself, during the season and at the height of summer during midweek, i am then busy on an evening at training, evening league or junior matches and training. Sp again dont get chance to watch the live games.
Have to settle for the highlights for the tests in the evenings, and miss t20 usually
Imagine a lot of other are in a similar position. Hence the low viewing figures

I was just thinking this. I watch alot more live tv cricket in the winter than summer. Im that busy in the summer with my own cricket and work that Im quite happy to watch the highlights show of a Test Match on Sky or C5 while im having dinner. Really is very little chance of me watching a CC game on tv.
The good thing about the CC is that its never sold out and its usually fairly cheap. Drive to your nearest game and watch it in the flesh.
