Title: Weight loss mystery
Post by: jgr on April 22, 2019, 12:37:57 PM
I had a bat re handled at the end of last season . I didn’t pick it up from the bat maker until about 4 months later - so I presume it had been left in the bat makers ‘shed’ . The new handle was slightly thicker but the dead weight of the bat had gone down by more than an ounce . It also picked up much lighter. Has the bat merely lost weight from drying out ? If so what can be done to get it to its original weight ? The blade itself feels very dry . Ideas much appreciated !

It is going to rain next week so put the bat in a garage. Then oil it.

To he honest older bats do tend to loose weight.

Handles all weigh different weights as well so it’s something to factor in.
