Title: Your Trusty Old Pair Of Gloves
Post by: InternalTraining on June 13, 2019, 03:09:30 PM
...or 2

I have a few pairs of gloves that I rotate thru games and net sessions. They gloves fit well and feel soft when squeezed during wear. Here is the problem: the leather has worn off from certain areas and abrasion will lead to holes very soon. New gloves take time to break in and with nearly 1/3 of the season over, it is not the best time to order new ones -- shipping will take minimum week to 10 days plus break in period.

Do any of you repair your gloves? Leather on the thumbs? Palm area? If so, how?

Sorry but nothing better than fresh gloves out of the packet! Straight into a game, split fingers don’t need wearing in.

I agree with @Kez - I don't find new gloves need breaking in. I have been happy with various sausage and split finger gloves straight from the off.
There will no doubt be variation between types and brands (size, proportions, perceived comfort, position of wrist Velcro etc etc), so if you get the chance, try a few pairs on to see which feels most comfortable.
