Title: Long Blade
Post by: Parv on July 09, 2019, 11:52:17 AM
Hello Guys,
My friend has a bat that is an absolute gun. Hes retiring from cricket and wants to give it to me. Unfortunately it is a long blade bat. I am 5"11 so its probably a bit big for me. This may well be a stupid question but is there any way to turn it into a SH ? I assume through re-shaping etc.

Either square off the toe, or if it is square cut a cm off

Though you may bugger it up by doing so! Just grip down the handle!

We could do a re-handle on it. This would involve re-sizing the blade at the shoulders and fitting a new handle of your choice.

This would mean the bat would perform the same.

You’d also get a refurb as part of the price.

Anyone half handy with batmaking tools could cut the end off and reshape the toe to make it a SH, done it before myself with good results as have a few others on the forum.

Just use it. You won't notice the difference. I am much shorter than you and have used a long blade in similar circumstances before.

5 11?
I don't think long blade should be an issue with you.
