Hi all,
Just picked up a butterfly bat off Churchy which seems really nice so was thinking of getting another between now and next season having done a bit more research. Looking at H4L and Aldred any guys with experience or other recommendations for butterfly bats?
Edit. Bat I got off churchy was a H4L

B3?

No problem with B3 any experience of there bats eespecially butterfly?

Be really interesting to compare with the Aldred ones as he is always making a thing about how they go just as well as G1 willow at a fraction of the price. If I ever sell my current bat collection I'd be tempted to try one of his £180 butterflies.
How does that price compare with H4L and B3?

I’ve had 2 B3’s. Actual butterfly from their offer & a TKC 3 stripe grainy absolute gun that had the hint of a butterfly stain on it.
Just so everyone is aware, I’d never quibble about the grading of the bat in question. It was one of the best value bats I’ve bought.
Both were good bats but the TKC was something special

The b3 butterfly I got via Dave was a cracker. Lowest density butterfly B3 have had and was an absolute gun. Shame it was too heavy for me and had to move on

I’ve had my aldred butterfly about 4 years. It is superb. But if you our are after a specific weight you are likely to be disappointed. I asked for a light pickup and it indeed has a light and excellent pickup but deadweight of 2lb 12oz. It revolutionised my thoughts around deadweight and I’m thankful for that. Some people also find Paul a little prickly. Personally I did not.

I've got an Aldred butterfly and it's response is excellent, as good as any of the G1 bats I have. But it's fairly heavy and feels like a big bit of wood in the hands. If I could get the stickers from Paul (tried to but he won't sell them) I'd take some wood out of the toe to help the pick-up.
I've got a Laver butterfly on order, I should see it next week. As Grubby said, customer service has been excellent

I picked up an Aldred butterfly from a forum member here. Never really used it to be honest, it was more of an itch I wanted to scratch. Hope to find time to use it at some point but its 4th in the pecking order. I desperately WANT it to be amazing but no evidence either way as yet.

This was my experience too. Mine was, and still is, the best performing bat I’ve ever owned. The deadweight of mine was too much at first however Paul did a great weight reduction job on it after a season after which it was perfect. A couple of years ago I thought it had died (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=41518.0 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=41518.0)) and after this incident I stopped using it. However a few weeks ago on a whim, having had a wretched season, I went back to it (ironically now with newbery stickers) and it still goes so well even though I fear it’ll break any day. Paul may not be flavour of the month here any longer but I found him excellent to deal with.
