Title: Returning Player Seeking Advice
Post by: RavReaper on July 21, 2019, 08:55:10 PM
Hi Everyone,

I am a returning player to the wonderful game. All my previous equipment is too small/ wrecked.

I have been reading the online forums and trying to build up as much advice as possible.

I am seeking a bat in the region of £120-£160.. with a low mid middle, and a slight bow. I have been looking at the 2019 SS TON Power Blaster, which fits all these aspects and is grade 3. Would like to know people's opinions on this bat.

In addition, I require batting pads, gloves and a helmet. However, I would like these to be a high quality but cheap... i.e 2nd hand would be ideal. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Sports direct is good choice. Online stockist would be another option. If you buy all equipments they might be able to do a deal but you have to consider custom charges in case.
eBay great way to start aswell with good used bats on bargain sometime and they are match ready too.

Just as a counterpoint... the majority of sports direct stuff is low quality tat pushed out to hit the cheap prices - for example the Slaz spikes are always popular due to the prices but I see several pairs a season disintegrate mid-match. If you're on a budget, go bargain hunting in the sales for some kit from someone who isn't just flogging rubbish at the lowest price point possible and you'll thank yourself later.

If you want a bat in that reasonable price range speak to a forum sponsor, that will get you the best value in my opinion.

Speak to Rob @sixsixes cricket who is a a forum sponsor and he will sort you out. I would strongly suggest you look at GM Signature bats in your budget especially the GM Noir.

As for pads and gloves on the cheap and second hand if that’s what you want then Ebay.

Yup GM Noir Signature or take up the offer by Red Ink.

Better than going sports direct... a bit of a lottery...
