Title: Elbow pain
Post by: Sloggerz on August 10, 2019, 09:24:17 AM
Has anyone suffered from front elbow pain towards the end of the season through batting. If so any recommendations?

Score fewer runs, get out more quickly and it won't be an issue! ;)

Ice it twice a day for 20 mins - plenty of elbow-friendly ice packs available on amazon.

Voltarol gel is good for localised inflammation.

Do you mean tennis or golf elbow? You can run a web search to see the difference.

I strated using my shoulder plus back plus hip to throw and it's fine and I can throw further without any pain. But sometimes in rush i.e run out chances or saving runs I forget all that technique and jerk my elbow while throwing and scream with sharp pain straight away.
Solution for me is don't slog while batting don't use elbow while fielding

You can get tennis elbow straps that can help (works for both tennis and golfers elbow).  It sounds like tendonitis so ice and massage help too (as might a few weeks off over winter)

Its feeling a lot better with some rest.

Have you got a link for any of these tennis elbow straps that you'd recommend?

or this

Just adjust the position to get the max benefit depending on whether its golfers or tennis elbow you have (tennis is outside and golfers is inside i think).
Also some general stretches are really helpful i find
