Title: Fielding pads
Post by: Mpt7 on August 14, 2019, 08:46:23 AM
as someone who greatly enjoys people going in under the lid I have found, to my utter surprise, that I am concerned about them getting hit!

Therefore, I am on the hunt for some fielding pads - however the market appears to be extremely sparse.

I've found some Kook ones or some at sports direct. other than that nothing!

any suggestions on where to get some pads like this?? or innovative solutions for my problem of wanting to protect fielders

Baseball catchers protection or wicket keeping pads are commonly used

I bought some Stretton Fox fielding pads from eBay a while back and while bulky (Especially with the thick straps) they are quite comfy. Even when running round in the outfield.

Bought some Newbery fielding pads to try as an alternative but still came back to the SF's.

Others use football or even hockey shin pads.

Hockey shin pads have worked for myself on the rare occasion I have gone in close. Probably sacrifice a bit of protection but are very comfortable and you can easily wear them in other positions if you aren't in close from both ends.
