A proper cricket tragic topic this one, but has anyone else every wondered what happened to bats they’ve sold on, especially old favourites or ones you regret parting with.
Are the in use, mounted on a wall after a first hundred, abandoned in a shed, unloved in a club kit, maybe some have even made their way into 1st class use.
Have shifted on pushing 100 bats, but there are 1-2 I used for a while or regretted parting with that I hope found a good home 🤣

Never any bats. However I do wonder what happened to many pads over the years which I deemed to be no good for myself, that somebody probably got a full life out of.

Bought a M&H Harlequin from IJC a good few years ago. Lovely bat but not really suited to my game. Sold it and regretted it, saw it on eBay about a year later but it was more expensive than what I sold it for

Your old Stretton’s are averaging 40+ for the second season in a row.

The sadist thing is when you realise your prime match bat is past it and you have to use something else.
Almost bitter sweet as it means your new bat gets a go...

I dont think i've ever experienced this - must be a part of being on this forum for too long :)

An old Newbery Uzi with the long handle short blade - I think I sold it on eBay for about £50. I actually have no idea why I sold it, it absolutely flew :(
A few bats have been lent to teammates and then broken - even though they might have broken anyway it's always sad to see a good one go in someone elses hands.

Yea I do wonder about two bats.
First was a Keeley from the the Keeley brand one of the first ones, sourced from Gary at B&S when he was involved in the brands initial distribution, sold on as was “too heavy” but actually was the same weight I use now.
2nd was a TON elite I bought from Vitas one of the best bats I had in terms of performance, looks and shape but sold because I changed softs and was convinced about being a FKW.
Probably could go back through messages and find out who they were sold to but my guess would be no longer on the forum as doesn’t seem to be many on here any more.

Is that not the ton I bought off you?

Not sure @tommo256 had blue stickers and a duck bill shape, would be very keen if you still have it??

Only sold 1 bat and it was just a wrong'un. Other than that, I have kept all my bats even ones that remained "performance free".
Once in a while, I venture into the "cupboard" and pull out the boxes (original) of some of my pristine prized possessions - Kranzies (big ones), Keeleys, and mighty fine CAs. Not sure they will see action anytime soon, but they sure are fun to look at. :D
