Title: What does a binding weigh?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows how many grams the average binding would weigh on a short handle bat?
I'm partway through making my first bat, but don't have any binding string yet, and am wondering if I need to take any more off to meet my target weight.
Does it make much difference or am I splitting hairs?

Does a bat handle need to be binded for the entire length? Is medical tape lighter? How does one or the other change the affect on the handle?

I would imagine binding is stiffer but nothing else between them otherwise

My takeaway was put on an extra grip is you want to change the feel of the bat, but if you want a thicker handle with as little weight gain as possible then binding or tape are equally good.

Actually, I was wondering if medical tape could be used to reduce the weight of the bat (instead of using "heavier" binding). I have a few bats that could be lighter, so binding and handle thickness are fair game.
