Can anyone possibly tell by looking at these pictures who the bat manufacturer could be?

I'm curious too...
I have a 'pro bat' that belonged to one of the current ashes teams ;) and it looks very similar... I've been trying to work out who made it...
It had SF labels on... hmmm.....
It was
-
Shoulders look like someone has tried to copy Keeley but top of handle looks strange, the centre circle...
Maybe Indian SS...
-
I had an SF with those shoulders and a similar "knob" on the top of the handle.
It wasn't sold as an SF, but there was a nail in the handle and it was stamped with WSStanfordCricket under the binding.
I'll have a quick Hunts and see if I have any pictures of said bat...

Unless you have a strong reason to believe so, I think you were misled by the same seller

The carpet in first pics seems to be phantom cricket.

Who did you buy it from?

Nope.

Twine used in TK bats is different compared to other bat makers. I had a bat rehandled by them recently and also own several.
Compare it to the other TKs you own.
-
I'd suggest it's not a TK on first look
-
Looks TK to me - twine is very much the TK style as are the shoulders, albeit with a very slight style difference.
I’ve had the occasional keeley handle like this where it is not the 12 cane inserts.
Also had bats off Ben before and know that that will be an outrageously good stick!

Do you have any bats with this sort of handle inserts that were surely Keeley made.

Who is "Ben"?

Who is "Ben"?
Ben Keeley, the long lost brother 😱
Sorry I shouldn’t joke
I really don’t think that’s a Keeley, shoulders and handle don’t fit the bill for me
-
^ Would've been funny if you had had said "ben no suke".
Ok. You are cool and funny.
-
Here is the shoulders and handle top from a Keeley bat. So don’t quite look the same to me but are similar.

Mystery solved guys. Was just browsing the ebay/bargain spots thread on here and saw this :
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHASE-FLC-Pro-Cricket-Bat-2019/202745421192?hash=item2f34919d88:g:1ZcAAOSwHwddP0DX (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHASE-FLC-Pro-Cricket-Bat-2019/202745421192?hash=item2f34919d88:g:1ZcAAOSwHwddP0DX)
So someone bought it off ebay, removed the stickers, and sold it to me as a Joe Root Keeley reject for 275.
-
Are you saying you think yours is a Chase or that that Chase FLC listing is also fake?
Chase don’t do shoulders or handles like yours so I’m guessing that “Chase” is also fake??? Looking again the toe and profile aren’t quite right???
No way your bat was ever going to be a Root reject for that kind of size and shape unfortunately
I'm saying that the Chase bat on ebay is the same bat in this thread. Mr. Ben bought it off ebay, removed the stickers and sold it to me saying it's a keeley that was rejected by Root

Nice looking bat tho.

Fantastic bat if I’m being honest. Very soft piece of willow, great press on it as well
-
The eBay ad is current thou, if it’s your bat who is selling it on Ebay? Apologies if I’ve missed the point.
I happen to be looking at a chase bat in my living room and I think Dan Dorset is right, it don’t look like a chase toe or shoulders.
So..so far it’s been stickered up as a Keeley when it may well not be(it’s not a Keeley) now stickered up as a chase, currently on eBay and it may not be that either
:)
-
The chase bat on ebay and the unstickered bat in this post are the same. It was sold to me as a Keeley pro bat(unstickered), it obviously isn’t. The ebay seller didn’t claim it to be a tk, the next buyer did, who removed the stickers. Look at the album I’ve shared.
-
So where did the Chase stickers come from?
I can't be the only one who's confused here...
Can you put pictures of the front and back of the knob of the handle please?

Let me clarify lol:
1. I buy an unstickered bat from Ben that he told me was a Keeley made Root reject.
2. Upon receiving I notice the handle inserts are not what I’ve seen on keeley bats so i post on cbf to get opinion.
3. Casual strolling on CBF leads me to the ebay thread where a chase is listed. I notice it looks exactly like the bat i just bought minus the stickers.
4. I realize Ben bought this bat off ebay, removed the stickers and made a fool out of me by selling it to me as a Root TK reject.
This ebay listing has probably not been updated by the original seller(not Ben). Hope this clears everything lol

Topic title should be changed to “Curious Case of Ebay Bat”..

Who is Ben? And why did you trust his word?

BatDoctorBristol on insta. He fixes bats for pros. This is not the only bat I’ve purchased from him. Between me and a friend we bought 5-6. We purchased them over a couple of months. I only got them recently as I’m outside of the UK and my friend brought them with him a few days ago. Every single one of them has a made-up story attached to it and I have proof for each lie lol. I kinda wanna post everything here but what’s the point.
-
there is a very similar looking SF bat he repaired for a guy in bristol with a very similar ebay/instagram account:

So this is actually an SF bat, which was restickered as a Chase (which is still listed on Ebay) but then sold to you plain as a Root/Pro bat reject? :(
All very confusing stuff! Regardless of whether its a good bat or not, I'd be gutted at paying 275 for a refurbished SF! This is why the whole 'Pro bat' thing is garbage in my opinion. 275 or thereabouts buys you a brand new stick from lots of very good batmakers, made to your specs and which will perform as good as anything.....sharpie or no sharpie! :D
-
This is not an SF bat. It’s a chase bat that the player sold to Ben who removed the stickers and sold it to me claiming it as a root Keeley reject. I’m not sure where the confusion lies.
-
Im not sure why its still listed on ebay. Maybe the original seller forgot to remove it
-
I think Dan is right, think this is an Indian made bat. I’ve looked again at the chase I have and whilst they will vary in spec the handle is totally different.
I think you have an SF bat stickered up.
-
How does it tap up?
-
... because it doesn’t have any traits of a genuine Chase and has a decidedly dodgy looking cheaply handle and the wrong shoulders etc. Maybe it was rehandled but with seeing more detail in your pics, nothing about it looks like Chase
I’m just going by Rob’s comment on the ebay thread.
Yeah genuine, had two custom made on a factory visit thru me, plays for Denmark 🇩🇰
Could be SF or anything else really. Just know that the one on ebay is the same bat I have
-
How does it tap up?
Really really well. Had a net today
-
I purchase doff Ben too..
To be fair he said it was labelled as an SF and claimed it was one of Denly's and he was/is with SF. AT no point did he say it was Keeley.
It has SF faded marks side... the question I have is... was it Denly's or just a run of the mill SF. I didn't pay silly money but nevertheless £200 notes.
I've taken off handle binding and look slike a SF..

Note to self - don't purchase a bat from this Ben fella...

Or any "Pro" bat. Only buy bats with the toe labelled as "Kohli", they must be geniune.
-
I’ve got one from Ben - Keeley stick that has the Faf iXu stickers. Definitely a top end Keeley with ten well spaced grains and the ping is ridiculous. Pretty sure even @Ajdal said his went well!
-
Presumably Keeley import handles anyway?

That bat is definitely not a Keeley. Good bat though.

Wasn't trying to prove it was. Was merely saying.

This stuff will keep happening if people continue to chase the allusive bat made for 'Player A'. (Unicorns)
I suggest you use any one of the bat makers on this forum to get a bat made for you instead and save a truckload of money.
