Title: What do you reckon this is?

Picked this up off eBay for a refurb project - there was very little detail on the listing

Could be damaged under all that tape but looks a nice shape & plenty of tight grains

The toe guard looks very distinctive - does anyone know what this might be - clearly the BAS stickers have been added by the previous owner

Wondered who bought it, to be honest I thought it was a genuine Bas shaped looks similar to theres

Toe guard looks L&W but the shape seems to be original BAS. May be someone asked L&W to make something similar to what they had before.

I’m not sure it is L&W for under £50!!!

Although the toe guard does look similar I will grant you

Be fun to refurb - I’ve not even got a clue on weight

So underneath the scuff and tape it was really quite badly used and abused

Some botched sanding and plenty delamination/surface cracks

I took it in to Millichamp for some advice and to see if they could help but the Aussie guy in there was brill - told me what to do and told me it wasn’t as bad as it looked and within my skill set and I’d be giving my money away getting them to do it...

Very impressed with his advice. So I went for it myself. I’d have gone full fibreglass scuff but I didn’t have one.
So it’s tape under helicopter scuff.

So I still don’t know what it is but it’s 2.8 - has a decent oval handle big & looks good.

I should have done that. Didn’t think.

Lots of surface cracks on the face. The kind cheap balls do to good bats.

It’s big and light could have been a bit dry - only one crack made it into edge.

A good sand made a huge difference & the double thick edge tape worked well.

It’s sound - the damage seemed from just being used a lot!!!

looks like a L&W but I highly doubt that it is

A nice bat none the less

I would have said Laver but they sand down the toe guards to a smooth shiny finish.

Yes, does look like mrf profile, but the toe is much more rounded (probably just the old style).
 But who actually makes these? I never worked this out. My Adidas Xt and Slazenger v1000 also have very similar profiles to this, so are they made by Sondhi?

Sondhi bat usually have numbers printed on the handle so look for that.

No numbers on the handle like a New Balance and Slazenger.
