Has anyone tried this https://www.talentcricket.co.uk/wicket_keeping_inner_gloves_and_accessories/aero_kpr_p2_wicket_keeping_face_protector/c278p1237.html (https://www.talentcricket.co.uk/wicket_keeping_inner_gloves_and_accessories/aero_kpr_p2_wicket_keeping_face_protector/c278p1237.html)
I am keen to buy this but not sure about the durability, comfort and safety aspects. Looks exciting though

Basically a baseball catchers mask isn’t it?

I do agree completely. I wonder if a keeper can get away without needing an extra protection for the back and top of the head .
Let's see to get some feedback from any player who has actually used it.

There was a Yorkshire keeper who used to wear one, a few years back? Simon Guy?
-
Haven't seen anyone wear one in league cricket, but i can see the appeal. Just think that as they're different people probably feel a bit daft wearing em maybe?
-
I've seen a few in our league, but the bowling's not exactly 100mph. They do look a bit scary. Slightly Silence of the Lambs...

The SriLankan women's team just played some T20's in Australia, and their keeper always wore something similar.
I was surprised at first, but the more you think about it, it's a lot better option for a keeper.
Full face protection as nothing can get under the chin, and it would be a lot cooler without the shell at the top and back.
The Srilankan keeper wore a head scarf under it, perhaps to keep the sun off?
-
I agree it makes sense, but would maybe lead to some digs from teammates :D

Yes that one is real Hannibal Lecter. He's trying to scare you out of your crease...
-
I'm not normally into looks being important, but that last one doesn't look particularly appealing! More importantly, it would cut off any breeze to your face, and would get fairly warm.
If the one in the OP had a peak to keep the sun off, it might be a good option. Mind you, I'm not a keeper :)

I tried the Aero P2 face mask, couldn’t get on with it at all and quickly sold it on

What was the issue: tight on the face? Do you recall if the inner foam padding enough for the forehead protection??

Liver, fava beans and a nice chianti for tea?

I have one … love it. Much comfier than wearing a lid.

It just didn’t sit comfortably at all on my face, I couldn’t wear it for even a minute.
Strongly suggest you try one on first if you are thinking of buying
