Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I wanted to share with you all a short documentary that I've produced about Sunset Cricket Club, who have been playing friendly cricket (and drinking a lot of beer) in Exeter and the surrounding Devon villages for the last 25 years. About two and a half years ago, after a sunny day off work spent lazing in the garden with TMS on the radio, I suddenly realised that I wanted to play cricket again. I'd last picked up a bat when I was a young teenager around 15 previously, and I don't think I was particularly good then so was fairly certain that whatever skill I did have would have vanished! After a bit of googling, Sunset Cricket Club popped up on my screen. They welcomed me with open arms, as they do with everyone who wants to play for them, and I haven't looked back since.
I made the film to help tell their story, and to celebrate it being 25 years since a group of friends got together around a drink in a pub and decided to start a cricket club.

Have a watch and let me know what you think! It's my first attempt at film making so keen to hear all feedback.
Thanks!

Very cool video, @ExeCricketer !

Thanks for watching and your comments guys! The club's ethos really does make it a joy to play cricket. The friendly game is very much alive down here - the club has about 40 fixtures in the book for next season.
@DorsetDan it's a cracker isn't it! That guy's other speciality is to play a tennis style behind the back shot :D

Very nicely done and well edited.
Might want a shorter version though, if using to promote your club/ethos.

Loved this - super short film. So many messages in there if you read between the lines. Well done.

Thanks both for your comments! Really pleased it's going down so well :-)
@SurreySam Great point about a shorter version, something more shareable and social media friendly. Gives me an excuse to bury myself in Final Cut again too

Brilliant video. That's what cricket is all about for me

I love the ethos.
I love the grounds.
I love the pint behind the stumps.
Sunset embodies all that is good about the game.
Very well played, sir.

Thanks guys, great to hear! The pint behind the stumps is an integral part of each game - amazingly I've never seen a drop spilt :-D
