If you were purchasing a bat this weekend, which one and why ?
Millichamp Hall C100 Pro £275, Keeley Superior G1 £467.50 / Keeley Worx 074 G1 £399.50
Thanks in advance

Tough choice. I’d probably go to SouthpawMark’s for sale thread and choose one of the belters from there. :D
My more sensible answer would be the Keeley Superior G1. I had one for a while and it was beautiful, but the profile was a little to small for my tastes (35mm edges).
-
I can't wait to get into Southpaw's thread - not long to go.
If it was my choice though it would definitely be one of the keeleys!
-
I'd go Keeley out of the two. Although if it were my money, I'd save some cash and go with a forum sponsor to get effectively the same bat eg: Blank Bats, or any others who all offer excellent bats for less. Red Ink, B3, H4L, Ayrtek etc.
I couldn't justify the £467 when there are so many great options out there for less money.
-
If you're determined to get a TK, then Blank Bats or Uzi are easily better options - exact same bats, less cost.
As for the M&H... I'll leave that one to @WalkingWicket37 ;)

I will second this, far cheaper options using a forum sponsor, I am currently waiting on a x1 from John@RedInk, for a lot less than these cost.

I've had 2 nets with my new keeley superior and I have to say I was blown away by it!

How about this stunning FLC @oldfudger ?

I did notice a lot of Keeley Superior G1 comes with 35mm to 37mm edges even with the Pro.

You can get Keeley's for a lot cheaper than these prices. Don't worry about model names, branding/grading, or even looks. Any Keeley will be great. Shop around for a used one. Unfortunately, new Keeley prices are just plain ridiculous!

Beauty that mate, seen it on your social media I think? Lovely profile, my ideal shape I reckon. I've just made a harrow up in a very similar shape and love the really low middle.
-
All the sponsors are great but I’d get a H4L

Keep the CBF tradition alive and buy all of the above. You can never have enough bats.
-
How about the Keeley G3s which can be obtained for under 200? I think they are made by TK but not 100% sure..
-
I’m pretty sure they’d make their own bats 👍
-
Save your money and buy a blank bat same as keeley but better stickers!
-
Never had a bad one. Go with the m and h. You won’t be disappointed.
-

Tell me about it, 150 is a lot of posts to accumulate!
There should be a master list of bats which a made by Keeley but sold under different brands, and the tell tale signs. I see people comment on the shoulder shape but I can't really see anything about the shoulders on mine that are a trademark shape.
-
Sorry didn’t mean to like that! Meant to say the same as Tom- who do you think makes a Keeley if not Keeley :D
..
Keeley Cricket could have other batmakers apart from TK, so wondering if the lower grades are handled by someone else as obviously Tim Keeley would find it difficult to do all by himself.
-
Tim has got brothers who also make a damn good bat as the family own a saw mill, it wouldn’t make much sense to outsource production beyond their own set-up.

All three.

They make great bats!

Who was the fella pictured in The Guardian 'giving the finishing touches' to a Keeley bat? I can't remember the name; but not Keeley, so not a brother.
-
Kevin.
-
Actually, surname not given. So might be Kevin Keeley?
-
Thanks for all your advice
As I get 50% back from my place of work (leisure account) with a Vat receipt
it is often cheaper to pay more with likes of Keeley, M&H than other suppliers who don't do Vat
-
Nice little offering from work then!
With those prices they don't have to sell many bats to be over the VAT threshold :)
-
So is there a Kevin Keeley?
-
Not on companies house, just Tim and Nick.
Under another name they did have a family member from the timber merchant business listed, but now resigned.

Tim, Nick main men. Fred also makes a lovely bat but does so less these days. Kev isn’t related to them but has worked for various cricket bat manufacturers and does the finishing on the bats :)

Thanks. He didn't look much like Tim. I'll maybe post the picture when I've got it to hand.
