My first trip to @Uzi Sports of the year (2nd day of 2020) and I came away with this beaut.

A grade 2 Keeley Superior at 2lb8oz!!
As always Asad was very genoius with his time even tho the shop was very busy (which was great to see) with Uzi away in Aus at the moment. Asad allowed me test this and another excellent lower grade superior as I wished and let me take my time doing so. They are very good at this and a real strength of the shop. It was nice to meet @Grubby while I was there - I expect he has already picked up the G3 Superior which I was eyeing also lol - very nice to meet you sir.
I had no intention of buying such a bat during my trip however when something like this jumps out especially at this weight I had to jump at the chance.
The handle is the standard Keeley fare and has now had tape applied to thicken it and shape the bottom hand how I like it. Feels a lot better now. The profile is full convex (almost dome like) and has 12 or so grains
The ping is very good as is the pickup as you would expect for the weight. I was surprised how good the ping was on the bat if I am honest - I haven't had such a light weight bat for a very long time (maybe 10 years or so) my preconception of having less wood within a bat means less ping or rebound is clearly wrong (without it being a low density cleft). But the ping on this is tremendous.
It is half and half and has some graping near the toe - this should give it abit more strength down there.

I have given it a light coat of oil and the grains have come out nicely - there is one strang thing I have noticed within the wood however and that is a darkening within the sap wood - I have tried to show It in this photo.

Not sure what it is - could be something to do with the heartwood.
Either way it adds some charm to the bat.
The pickup and ping certainly makes this a contender for the up coming season. I will of course knock it in and use it in the nets before making any decisions on it. But this is a welcome addition to the "Keeley Family" its twins!

Lovely bat Tony, looks a great shape.
Is it harder round the graping in the toe area?

Yes it is - I think that is what drew me to it - as I do need that option I think

understandable, perfect shape at 2.8lb, with sheet and more oiling it will be more like 2.9lb, niceeee, may you make tons of runs with it

Lovely stickers too although with the offset cutout on the end they always look like they've been put on slightly wonky to my eyes ;)
How thick was the handle to begin with Tony?
