Title: SA vs Aus white ball stuff.
Post by: Buzz on February 21, 2020, 06:39:30 PM
Saffa's getting a thumping in the first game of this white ball tour.

Plus a hatrick for Ashton Agar who is only there because the big show is having an operation

Not trying to nitpick, but Agar was always in the squad.  D'arcy Short was the replacement for Maxwell
The spinners were pretty handy with Agar's 5 and 2 to Zampa.

I find it bewildering that Stoinis recently hit 600+ runs in the BBL averaging over 60, was named player of the tournament, and still couldn't make the squad.
He must be wondering what exactly he has to do to get in the team?

DeKock in the mood - dispatching starc out of the ground. Still can’t believe SA have dropped klassen, much better player than RvD and miller

What a choke from Aus, had that game won for about 17 overs of that chase

Think choke is a bit harsh - a 12 run loss is hardly contriving defeat at the last hurdle  :D

Neither team could get going through the middle overs and while Aus tracked the SA score most of the way through I think they left themselves too much to do at the end .... probably arrogance of assuming that their bowlers did a better job than SA's would be able to at the death etc.

Interesting that while David Warner carried his bat, he chewed up 9 more balls to score 3 less runs total than de Kock ... pretty much your 12 run difference right there between those at the top who had the benefit of the harder ball and opening powerplay.

Amazing fielding by Smith though.  He knocked 2 sixes back into play and saved 4.  In total I think he turned what could have been 16 runs in boundaries into only 5 saving 11.  Some pretty good fielding by Faf as well.
