Hi guys, was going through a few things and came across this, it's a newbery phantom bat with a decent pick up but also a decent crack, a team mate was throwing it out last season but ended up in my kit bag haha anyone think it's worth salvaging?

I'd be inclined to try and repair that. I enjoy doing them though, so would see this as something to do for fun... :-[
Pack the damaged area with glue, making sure you get it all the way in there. Clamp it tight and once the glue is dry put a couple of dowels in there.
With that kind of damage the repair may last well, or it could break again almost instantly. You've got nothing to lose by trying though. If it holds up well you'll have acquired a decent stick free of charge too! :D

Plenty on here would try to repair it, however i'm not sure that's destined for a long life.
-
That looks like it'd have a decent chance of the repair going well, definitely worth a go.

Bin it but be a good bat injury to repair!
-
I'd have a go at fixing it, but it would probably end up with a heap of fibreglass tape around the toe.
-
Open it up glue clamp it up and a tsi

very repairable but only to have as a loaner, net or wet weather bat. Or an option to get out when "due to the bat your using" the runs dry up and you need to change the bat in order to get the runs to magically come back, or a Sunday bat, or a mid week bat... these scenarios all need separate bats and in some cases need individual back ups.
You could also cut the lower split section off, reshape the back and use it as a training aid type bat for knock balls along the floor - easier to swing one handed than a full length one.
or you could cut it lengths ways and make one of those thin batting practice bats....
or... well you get the idea....

Bloody hell Bilbo - you're back too!!! whats happening on here this week!!!

That’s certainly repairable. Gorilla glue pack it up clamp sides and top for 48 hours. Sand and dowel and as Dean said if you can fit a Tsi yourself do that as well.
Reckon if done well that will hold up well. Got a GM that has the same damage and after I repaired it got 600 runs out of her last season. I’d be happy to do it for you for free as a project

If you are repairing, pls share if the bat performed.

Had 2 similar splits in a gn. Glued, dowled twice and some tape. Used it for about 5 games last season and it's still OK :)

I repaired one worse than that recently, turned out great and still pings -

As said above, you can never guarantee just how long they'll last but it's not an expensive job, so nothing to lose.

Haha.. too small for these days so I have had to upgrade.. but still rocking the look and avoiding parks all at the same time.
didn't play much last year and certainly didn't have the itch to buy an kit for a couple of years... but hoping to play a bit more in the coming season so as you do thought I would see what those nice peeps over on CBF were up too!
Hope you still managing to tip toe to the crease to get those pies down to the batsman... you were a trend setter... its all about pace off these days... you've been doing that for years!
