Title: Advice on SM bat
Post by: rosskettle720 on April 13, 2020, 02:11:57 PM
HI Guys I have an SM bat that is stunning to look at with a ton of grains, but when I use it it just feels really hard and the ball doesn't ping how I would expect it to. Does this mean it's over pressed? and how (if possible) would I go about softening the willow to make it ping more?

Cheers

Have you used it much?

Hardly at all, I think twice in games and maybe a handful of nets.

Yes it is probably over pressed. A lot of mallet work/hitting balls in nets should help it to improve.
The number of grains has no bearing in a bats performance in my experience.

Probably just needs more knocking/playing in then. I've got a B3 that was very hard when I got it but it's been noticeably improving with more use in nets and hitting throw downs.
