Not only was he one of the greatest batsmen to play the game, he always comes across so well in interviews.

Yeah, he's such a humble nice person. People don't say that about a lot of the modern stars.

Yes, love the scruffy pads with rust marks and the BDM 'Union jack' bat grip. Times have changed...

The rusted buckles are definitely a relic of the past

I loved watching sachin, such a class act and to think he was still playing test cricket at 40 gives us old boys a bit of hope......

Who are you choosing I your side on ability alone, sachin or kohli ?

Probably because hes done 4 million of them. Practice makes perfect

Not quite in the Jack Russell category, but I always remember his kit, particularly his pads, looking rather dog-eared.  He must have been the last international player to wear buckled pads.

I would concur with those who have mentioned how well he comes across in interviews.  Many wouldn't have had the patience to put up with Dean Jones grabbing bits of his kit and looking to talk over him
