For those of us not blessed with huge gardens or personal batting cages, has anyone found an affordable option for practising in a small outdoor space at home?
Had a look at the Aero net/ball on a string but at £150+ it's a bit more than I can or would want to spend.

You can put a ball in an old sock and suspend it by a rope from the top side of a door frame.

You don't need the net with the ball on the string, just a tree branch or similar to hang it from. Something like this works fine :

You could put up a small bit of netting to stop the ball swinging too high. Much more fun than shadow batting. You can get the ball on a string for a few quid

I used to to the ball and sock thing on the clothesline and put a big beach towel behind it.

I have one of these. It isn't the same as having a net but I find it enjoyable to get out in the garden to have a hit. Very easy to set up

I was surprised by how sore my arms were after not picking up a bat in anger for 2 months!

Glad I'm not alone there 😅

@sevman26 you put the towel back from where you are hitting the ball. We have a clothesline that comes out from the house so I put the ball in the sock on the line furtherest from the house and the towel close to the house and hit it as hard as I want into the large towel. It works pretty well.
