Hi all, so I bought a phantom wheelie a few months ago now and obviously because of the lockdown I've had no need to use my kit so my bats just sat in there. Took it out to have a swing today and it's got black stains from the ink in the bag all down the back and at the toe, any advice on how to get rid of this?
-
White spirit should do the job. Very small amount on an old cloth.

Yes it happened to me with a New Balance bat cover. I made some cotton bat bags that I put my bats in before putting them in the padded covers now.
I had to sand off the ink, bit of 240 grit was all that was needed. Got rid of my New balance cover after that as I think that was poor. Never happened with any of my other bat covers (and I’ve had plenty).

Black stains?
Oh dear.
I'm afraid it's terminal.
It's only good as a net bat now I'm afraid.
Speaking as your lawyer, the only sensible, right and legal solution in this case is to purchase a new bat.

Problem is they are bright red colour. After you mentioned this a while back I went and checked my bats and indeed there was very slight pink mark on the spine from these NB covers. I haven't tried removing it yet

Yes, those NB covers are crap. During lockdown get the sewing machine out and make some bat socks from scrap cotton to protect your bat from this problem. I made about 10 in a morning. But I have taught yr 7 textiles in the past so consider myself a bit of an expert :).

I’ve got red marks on my pads from a woodworm duffle... still fuming.
I’ve even tried the old school trainer whitener. No joy.

Try WD 40

Bit of sanding and oiling and bat looks good as new again, cheers everyone :D
