If cost was not a constraint, which one is better B3 Crown or GN Legend? Or are there any better options.
-
What colour is better, Red or Blue?
-
there are not many reviews on the forum on the legend, what I am looking for is if someone would to choose one over the other, what considerations would they take into account?
-
I would go with a B3 Crown. You can talk to them about willow density so you get a bigger bat, whatever shape you want and great service. Legend I'm sure would be a great bat but if I had to choose, B3.
-
100% I would go b3 crown. Gn legend you aren’t getting the best gn.
I think it’s a fairer comparison to say what would you choose, a custom made gn from Robertsbridge or a b3 crown. Out of those 2 I would choose GN. On the basis I have always wanted a uk made gn from Robertsbridge. Not some laser etched bat from
India.
Money no option GN- for me You are looking at a Kranz or a custom uk made gn.
-
Exactly agree with canners. A more fair comparison would be a Robertsbridge made or Kranzie made Gray Nicolls. The standard legend is simply a generic indian made pretty gray nicolls retail bat that doesn't justify its price.

how does one get the custom GN? Are the ones sold in the UK for £1000 made in India?

You would need to contact the Robertsbridge gray nicolls factory to get info for that. And yes the ones sold in UK for 1000 gbp are indian made

There are better options out there. Need to know what are you looking for specifically so we can help you out.

Ive had a few of both (Inc the Legend Gold) and would definitely recommend the Crown over the UK Legend as you can choose your profile, choice of cleft, handle shape, weight etc. All of the Crowns ive had had performed. Cant say the same about a couple of the Legends.

I had a Legend and used it in nets for an hour or so. It was the prettiest bat (in terms of grain structure) in I have ever seen, but it was as hard as nails, and there was way too much wood taken off the back. If I had the patience to knock it in it probably would have ended up being a gun, but I didn’t really like the heavily concaved shape either, so couldn’t be bothered with it. I paid £749 for mine, and ended up selling it for £400. Not the smartest decision I have ever made, but at least I got a decent amount back.
I love the look of B3 bats. I would choose B3 over GN every time.
-
I would take the B3 bat with gray nicolls stickers
-
Surely if cost was no constraint the correct answer is one of each and a few others to compare it to?
-
thanks everyone for the suggestions and witty responses

Ahhh, we're a bunch of 'shining wits' on here!

@singapore rookie . A custom Gn from Robertsbridge would be £600 .

If you've got enough cash to consider a Legend then I would say custom bat every time. Plenty of options besides B3 depending on what you're looking for.

Kranzie made Gray Nicolls - are these Australia made custom GN's?

Rob's is phenomenal, as good a recommendation to go custom GN as you could imagine.
