Have any of you ever done or seen this before?

I’ve seen it, but never managed to do it successfully myself!
-
Only ever done it once when I couldn't find my cone. Worked okay but a bit faffy as one would expect.
-
This was my go to way of putting a grip on for years ha, once the supermarkets started getting rid of the old style carrier bags it forced me to use a cone like normal people - bags for life aren't made for bat grips unfortunately!
-
It’s fairly easy once you know how. Less so for any subsequent grips over the top though.

Agreed mate, almost impossible for a second grip. It works by losing the friction between the grip and binding but doesn't work between the two layers of rubber (not without a lot of luck and brute force!)

I'm bad enough at putting on grips with a cone 😂
-
Or two carrier bags :D
-
Done it! Works really well with a single grip. Impossible with a 2nd grip
-
Works for one grip but even then many times it is a hassle to remove the plastic from under the grip after application as the plastic bag can start getting torn into bits depending on how tight the grip and how smooth the handle binding and you need to roll the grip s up and down few times to get all the plastic out. You dont want to leave any plastic bag bits underneath as that could make the grip slippery. I would rather just use the grip cone to avoid all this.

I’ve found the best way to put a grip on is to let someone else do it. Cones are a nightmare, plastic bags are a nightmare, those GM (No Swearing Please) pump contraptions are worse than useless if you use anything other than a traditional diamond grip. I really don’t know why they bother selling them anymore.

Maybe it's because i am always faffing around with grips on my bats, but I have never had a problem with the gripping cone.
A number of years ago i played with a.guy who could fit them my stretching them with his hands.
