Just thinking back over the last couple of seasons or so and i’ve seen a couple of Jumbos plus another two or three Stuart Surridges, a couple of Duncan Fearnleys ,one of which was a well used 405, four or so of the Bernie Facer Baronets(lovely bats) plus a number of 80’s Gray Nicolls, Gunn & Moore, Slazenger bats that tend to be used by bowlers of a certain age coming in at 10 or 11 who, for obvious reasons, don’t feel the need to get a new bat

Sadly not so much in our league. I was thinking about trying my refurbed Jumbo in a friendly this season - partly to test whether the glue will hold 😂😂

Still see the older ACE, Crown and Kippax bats up here.

Saw SS Jumbo used a few years ago - the team was excellent and played proper cricket. The batsman using the SS Jumbo stole the game from us by rotating strike all thru the innings. It was a pleasure watching a side play with such control over the entire game.

Do really enjoy seeing an old bat still in use and the player always welcomes a chat about it. Most of us are, after all, cricket tragics!

One of my Aussie team mates had an old Jumbo that he used still. He wasn't a cultured bat but could hit it a fair way when he wanted to!

We've got a vintage guy who still turns his arm over on occasions in his 60s. He used to work for Duncan Fearnley and he is fully kitted out; bag, softs and a mint condition Magnum, complete with green grip. It's an absolute gun too!

Teammate of mine uses a very elderly v900 that he must have bought when he was about 15. My god he hits it hard, but I'm sure the bat holds him back at times.

Havent seen a vintage magnum in a while - they were they boys back in the 80's and 90's. My dad used one.
I've bought a GN Dynadrive on ebay and i'm in the process of refurbing it - its still got a really good ping so it may get used but also may end up on ebay.

Teammate brought a Salix Gem to nets today. It was thin but still had punch.

Iv still got a Slazenger V500 ultimate in the garage at my mums. The one Alec stuart used and that could still be match used. Think edges are 15mm from memory.
See the odd old Slazenger or woodworm when i play the odd Sunday 2nd team game or umpire on a Sunday. Always nice to see a bat I grew up wanting. Would love to find a good quality GN sabre off ultimate 750

Not sure what condition they are in (and you have probably seen them) but there is a GN Sabre and an Ultimate currently on Ebay

I know this chap he’s got a pair of the old school Kookaburra Diablos. A bit worst for wear but still go like the clappers when hit in the sweet spot.
