Title: Proud Owner of Ayrtek ACIS Elite
Post by: CricketisLife on March 03, 2010, 09:33:49 PM
Hello Guys,
Firstly, thank you for showing interest on my NXT Helmet and Gloves. After putting that post I realised that I can give it to my club as prizes for Colts of my club. So I decided to give it to my club last weekend.
I am also now a proud owner of my new helmet, almost.  Thanks to Tom who has done a brilliant job the helmet is in its last stages (stickers).
I designed the logo based on the Indian Flag with creative input from Tom and I also placed my Club Logo (Theale and Tilehurst, playing the Thames Valley Cricket League) and my company logo.
Initial Design:

With Base Colour:

With the Indian Flag colours:

With the stickers on:

I am just waiting for the final sticker and minor adjustment on the T&T Logo and I will be playing with it very soon. I would hate the bowler who makes a scratch on my shiny new helmet though !!

Thanks guys....I did use a few grey cells for that design but Tom brought that to life :-)

The sledgable thought did cross my mind ;-) but maybe I can use my agression to make the guys fetch the ball from the boundary more often ;-)

To be honest I am spellbound by this man's dedication. when I placed my order with Albion, they were absolutely CRAP !!! If someone can put so much time and effort into a guy like me ( I aint no international player like Sangakkara) that tells about him.
Shame that I love my bats and bag from M&H else I would get everything from this guy !

Good point well made! Nice to see the transformation from a graphical design to the finished article though certainly one of the brightest we have done but goes to show the scope of what is viable with the lids :)

Probably not but as it says on our BSI report "we have never tested something like this before" hence why were setting new standards and improving materials and the technology being used

He moans about the fact that we are using paint ontop on a shell I think but where as paint may effect plastics etc it will have no effect on carbon fibre etc as we are the 1st company ever to use it in making a cricket helmet...prob due to the cost!!

really - in the Surrey Championship it is usually from muppets who are nowhere near as good as they think they are - or from Phil Sampson who just called me a "see you next tuesday" about 20 times as I "late cut" him for 4 three times in a row...!

aha of course it's from them too! sledging is just banter, and gives me an excuse when keeping. some of it is very poor!

thanks to everyone who has commented on the helmet. I basically took the Indian Tshirt and wanted to have a ribbon based helmet design so that its not too in your face, which some say it is ;-) and also making it unique. Then Tom gave his creative input on the way the ribbons should flow to give the maximum impact. So I would suggest, get your grey cells working, see what designs you like the most and go from there...I am waiting eagerly to start playing with is this weekend if Tom is able to do all the final touches by then..

Just doing the Shells not for yourself and Mr Griffin :) black looks very nice may convince me to opt for it when/if i ever get the chance to do my own helmet.

Did have one to at least use but Talisman has borrowed it yesterday to take with him on his travels but was a bit boring in red and white.

Silver lines are just 3mm silver vinyl tape that we use on the standard stock designs. Helps to highlight the coloured sections on Dan's and the India flag one. Prob looks like its coming off as they are lacquered over and then fired so curl up a touch when heated but wont come off without some effort!

Depends on your head size the helmets are sized accordingly to the usual head sizes of S-XL.
