Title: face-off! UK made vs Indian made vs Pakistani made
Post by: Mfarank on August 30, 2020, 10:09:56 PM
There is a lot of debate about where the best bats are made. Well here is my unbiased opinion about the 3 most common sources of cricket bats in the world. Today we compare a UK made Keeley Worx 074 against an Indian made Gray Nicolls Powerbow Inferno 3 star and a Pakistani made Mids Gold and see who comes out on top.

Nice video. I think no surprises in your ranking of the three. But you have to remember that a grade 3 Keeley is still a pretty expensive option compared to the others. As you said, the grains looked more like g1/g2. Only thing I would say is about durability. My Keeley has developed quite a few cracks on the edge after only a few net sessions. Although it pings really well the edges seem a bit fragile compared to my other bats.

Yes offcourse mate and i did talk about the price difference. I am surprised to hear about your cracks though. My other keeley which is a blank bat is into its 3rd year and still yet to get a single crack anywhere on it. Maybe i hit a jackpot with 2/2 amazing keeleys

Do you talk about the difference in the handles on your video.
That to me is the biggest difference. I have had top performer from India, Pak and UK, but the handles are usually better on the UK ones.

Yes. I think my Keeley will be fine, just surface cracking as far as I can see. And it's all on the heart wood on outside edge. It was one of the special Christmas deals from Mighty Willow (see thread by @Yorkershire ) , so reckon it could have been stuck in a store room for a couple of years before sale.

I do actually. I did talk more about it originally but had to shave it down to keep the run-time under 20 minutes lol
