Thought I would share some pictures and an initial review from my custom x2 from John!
The brief was a copy of the Ollie pope players edition GM- I just really like the look of the shape. Unfortunately I don’t own said players edition so it’s completely off photos and I think you’ll all agree it looks the dogs despite my awful photos. Square toe, full profile, thick shoulders 2’12 but feels fantastically balanced and much lighter than my other 2’12 bats! Short blade, long thick oval handle, 12 grains, looks unbelievable for a g2 I think. And pings like a cannon! Stickers are extremely classy too, pictures really don’t do them justice. Very happy. Thank you John, I can’t wait to use it!

My pictures really don’t to it justice at all tbh. It looks much bigger in real life....

John makes an awesome bat And great to deal with. Hope it goes well for you.
-
Bloody hell. Nice looking grade 2.
-
Lovely shape that and from the pics looks a good replica of the Pope players edition and I totally agree with the view of a superb looking G2 bat.
Hope it goes well for you mate
-
Lovely bat that. John's a top bloke and his pressing is top class imo.
-
Love the long handle short blade setup. makes a lot of sense and feels great
-
Lovely looking bat.

Grade two??
Just shows grading is a joke with bats,,,that is stunning, tons of character and I bet it goes
Love the profile, and I’m a big convert to the long handle short blade combo

I’ve certainly had far worse looking g1s. For less than £200 it’s an absolute bargain. Far better finished and pressed than the big brands bats I think.
One of the lads at my club had my old red ink, 4 years old now. Absolute cannon. This already is but it’ll get better I’m sure!

My pleasure, glad you are happy with the finished product.
It’s a lovely cleft and has resulted in an outstanding bat! It’s tempting me to move towards the shorter blade set up myself. May even make the next stock shape one!
I’ve got plenty of stunners like this in stock and across all grades so plenty of selection for all budgets.

How's this beauty going?

The bats Red Ink are making and Oxfordshire cricket bats really are fantastic. The way the bat looks does make a difference even if it’s superficial - both have got excellent labelling and finishing.
This red ink one is one of the best grade 2’s I’ve seen recently.
-
Definitely agree, love the classiness of those stickers.
-
Agree, but doesn't answer my question. I guess only the owner will know....
-
Looks awesome mate. Well done John.

Hello. Sorry only just seen this. For those asking, it’s a cannon! Haven’t used it a great deal due to having a baby and not playing as much but it’s right up there with the best I’ve had. Thank you again John!
-
Amazing for a G2. Really tempted to get one myself for my next one.

I can also vouch for John`s bats. I had a similar profile bat to this made up last year around same weight which I have started using in full this season, Its a fantastic bat and really coming into its own the more I use it.

Appreciate all the positive feedback! Hope the bats serve you well and are scoring you plenty!
