It is nice to know that even at the very highest level players chop and change bats in the hope that it will find them some form

I wonder if it will be a passing trend, generally?

I can't imagine it will be as long as T20 cricket remains such a commercial monster.

Found these pictures from late 2020 when Eng played SA.

Looks like a slightly shorter blade is creeping back into his bag. Wouldn't mind a swing with one of Butlers either.

Great photos thanks for sharing @SurreySam :)

Some lovely looking bats there, but also some wavy grains and blemishes that serve as a reminder that pro players are way less fussy in looks than some of the people on here!!!

Love the wavex handle on Joe roots bats, pretty obvious where they come from.

I’m not sure that’s a wavex handle so much as just the hex grip giving it that look.

Don’t think they are wavex handles, it’s the hex grips

Yep, defo look like GM hex grips.

Some nice looking bats but they obviously only get second dibs after Chad!

Any guesses on the origin?

The one with the slightly dropped shoulders looks like a bit like a Kippax to me. The other two look Indian made, maybe Sondhi?

Roy's NB also has the same shoulders as two of Root's bats. Maybe they are actual NBs/Sondhis..

Hard to tell what origin the bats are with just a front and rear picture

Roots handles are certainly just normal ones with GM Hex grips fitted and not Kippax wavex handles. Mine all look like that, which is why I love the hex grips, as they feel really good in the gloved hand and grip like there's no tomorrow.

Great photos! Where did you find these?

I fell down that internet browsing Rabbit hole last night where you have about 20 tabs open, 2 have frozen, and you have no idea where the music is coming from.  In that journey where I was looking for groundsman stuff and cricket equipment, I remembered the South African D&P brand. They are quite innovative with regard to softs and was checking out their new bags. Browsing their Facebook posts, I found they had posted the above pictures, saying the ENG players had sent in the bats to their workshop while on the SA tour. So thought they'd be more appreciated on here.
