Title: Polishing wheel
Post by: Guyfawkes on December 20, 2020, 11:37:26 AM
Morning all
Can anyone recommend a decent polishing wheel please. Have people adapted bench grinders and attached a buffing wheel?
Many thanks
Guy

Hi mate, without spending the earth, this is the best option imo

So this machine just needs secuing to the bench and then stick in in the mains? Ive always wanted to polish my own bats. How do i get started? Any advice is much appreciated.

Exactly as you’ve said mate.

Buy a stick of polish from Axminster or equivalent, affix the bench polisher, melt the polish onto the polishing wheel, and buff away.

Is the liberon purified beeswax stick a suitable option?

Beeswax isn’t great tbh mate - it provides a decent finish no doubt, but for that new bat look. GW16 polish or Hyfin is what I’d pick.

I use a bench grinder with tapered spindles added, which then allows a wide mop. As @LEACHY48 says, hyfin or similar is probably your best bet
