ooooooh - it's tough to pick an XI for this right now this instant - however, I have had 5 Amstels and 4 Heinekens, so I reckon I'm a 'proppa selecta' - here's my best possible 12. You will of course disagree....................................

If we assume no injuries, I think (bearing in mind the perennial issue that we have with the few standout candidates to open) that I would go:

Latham
Labuschagne
Williamson (c)
Kohli
Azam
Stokes
Watling (w)
Cummins
Archer
Lyon
Boult
12th Man - Bumrah

Azam is obviously not fit, so that spot would be a toss up between Root, who I would make open and move Marnus down, and Rahane.

Those with most grounds to take offence would be QdK, Broad and Starc.

Where's the hypothetical game being played? Makes a huge difference. How about a World XI to play the current No1 side, Australia (lol), in Australia?
