As per the subject - does anyone play for, or can recommend, any good clubs in or around Bristol that happily host Touring teams?
Obviously we dont know exactly when this will be yet but given that there were several clubs touring last season, hopeful that it should be able to go ahead at some point. Most likely in the 2nd half of the season.
Thanks

I expect @edge and Rob at @Six Sixes Cricket will be able to help point you in the right direction :)

Hello @alba caerulea , yep I can help. What kind of tour schedule are you planning, and what kind of clubs do you want to play, what standard etc?

We generally do 2 fixtures over 3 days with the spare day used for county fixture/sightseeing/pub. Sunday, Monday, Tues has been the last 2 Tours, one in July one in Aug.
Mixed ability team but definitely leaning more towards friendly than competitive. And ideally with an open bar. We took 18 last time so several non players who kept the till ticking over during the day.
Obviously this tour might take a different shape or schedule depending the countries situation at the time.

Ok mate, I'll have a wee think when I get a minute and pm you a few suggestions.

Might be worth having a chat with Wedmore Cricket Club (https://wedmore.play-cricket.com/ (https://wedmore.play-cricket.com/)) which is around 30-40mi s south of Bristol city centre.
You also have the added benefit of Wilkins cider farm( http://wilkinscider.com/ (http://wilkinscider.com/)) where for a fiver, you can drink as much proper cider as you can manage( which won’t be much!)

The cider sounds great but 40 miles is probs a bit far, we'd be halfway home!

Sorry, I meant minutes.
It’s around 15-20miles from the centre

Believe me, the trip to Roger Wilkins' place is worth the trip alone. You'll be fine drinking away sitting down but when you go to get up or grab a bit of fresh air your legs will seem to have forgotten how to operate and you'll almost certainly doing an accurate impression of a baby calf taking it's first steps.
At least that's what happens to me when I go there...

@jamesisapayne it is a place to behold.
Salubrious surroundings, great cider, lovely cheese and for a fiver!!
-
That's a great plan - forget the cricket and just go see Rog. Wouldn't want to be the designated driver!

@alba caerulea , if you still after a game I can pass on our fixture secretary details to you. I’m sure we would be able to host

Is it this cider farm in Wedmore that has just been busted?

lol yes that’s the place!
Think they’ve probably drunk too much and think they’re back in 2019...
