Title: Availability app
Post by: spoonbed on February 27, 2021, 12:43:30 PM
Does anyone know of a decent( ideally free) where players can input their availability for games( we currently just have a WhatsApp group, and it tends to get a bit busy/messy)

Have you looked at Spond?

Used it last couple of years for my junior teams, we find apps etc ok for adults but still need that direct chasing when we are struggling for numbers - which is quite often!

I don’t have any experience but somebody linked me to ‘Team App’ the other day.

You used to be able to do it on Play Cricket. Each Player has their own login and then all the fixtures are already there obviously etc..

My club are looking at Teamer for the upcoming season. Few clubs round our way use it and have said it's pretty decent.

Is the availability functionality more user friendly than the rest of the website?

Have found Doodle very handy - whilst not specifically for sports it's worked well for couple of teams I play for last few seasons.

Have used the function on both Play Cricket and Teamer.   The problem has been getting players to use it, not the app itself.

We now require players to notify availability to the Chair of Selectors

I use Spond to run a fair number of junior teams, it's great

Another vote for spond, it's free and bloody brilliant! We use it for all fixtures and training now to get a guide on numbers etc - can push reminder notifications on players phones so they don't forget too

Anyone willing to give a quick explanation of the best way to use Spond?

Just registered for Teamer. Man this is a simple app. Good setup, easy to import contacts if you have a spreadsheet or so. And first event already setup.

I would love to use a google form/availability app for sorting my teams out but unfortunately about half of my team are from the technological dark era!  :D
