Title: Something a bit different
Post by: ProWannabe88 on March 14, 2021, 04:25:48 PM
Been a long time since I posted on here but thought this might divide opinions  :D

Decided to upcycle a pair of Nike Air Max G golf trainers into batting shoes.

Never going to get used for golf so sent them off to B&B for a half spike modification.

I think they've come out really well.

All the benefits of one of the best golf trainers still on the market, in the best colour combo imo. And now will be used as my batting spikes.

Not to everyone's taste but for £35 with return postage I'm not complaining.

It's hard rubber  ;) has added a bit of weight to the shoes but was expected.

It's sole looks like old fashioned cricket bowling boots, very nice!
You must have seen them, the ones in 70s

Yes I did think that when they arrived. Sewn and glued but its hard wearing rubber rather than the stitched leather on the old boots. Rippled as well so maybe even wear them without the spikes or with some short rubbers as well.

Look great. Never tried, but would the golf shoes be suitable for running?

Do you have any contact details please? Was going to send mine to Cheshire Shoe Company but don’t like how they don’t stitch the soles on and the spikes are not replaceable like yours!

Cheers.

Yes definitely. These air max 1G are just like the trainers to wear. They have a tougher waterproof upper but anyone who's had a pair will agree (I'm sure) that they won't be an issue.

It's the same.contact details as in previous threads. The only thing I will say is be patient as Brian only works for an hour each day now so it took a while to pick my shoes up from the post office after the first delivery was attempted and failed. But after he got them it took about 3 days to get them back.

I’ve had a few pairs done by them and my only gripe would be the stitching creates some what of a weak spot for the outer part of rubber sole. Which will eventually split/peel away at the edge side of the stictching. That’s has happened on 3 pairs I have done there so have gone elsewhere this time.

Ahh I'll keep an eye on that, thanks
