I'm currently in the process of moving back to a village where I will be restarting (I hope) my cricket. I've sold all my original bats (Exception being a GN Aussie Predator 1000 which probably won't be used) therefore I am starting again.
I'm looking for a forgiving piece of timber i.e. fullish profile. Grade 3/4 is fine, not a big fan of butterfly willow. Budget is around £150 for now. Please can I get some suggestions of ranges/ makes that would suit?
My last match bat was a 06/07 GM Maxi 909 which was nice and responsive.I guess there is a UK made/ Subcontinent divide to take into account and I am aware of OLS which has caught my eye, however I was a little dismayed to learn that Newbery no longer make all bats in England anymore.
Hoping some kind people can point me in the right direction
Cheers

If you liked your GM bats in the past, a GM Signature (grade 2) would be well within your price range I reckon. For a fullish profile, the Diamond model sounds like it might be a good fit. Slightly shorter blade and longer handle but one of the lads at my club has one and you barely notice the difference, lovely bat too.

I would actually recommend the GM Chroma Signature - excellent bats. Rob at @Six Sixes Cricket may have a few in stock! One thing to keep in mind is that shorter blade bats with longer handles are now in the market, so do check on this when finding a bat, especially if it would bother you!
Newbery get some of their bats made in the UK - I think their Heritage range are made here!

Can happily make something up for you to specs. My grade 3s would fall within budget as a forum offer price and include knocking in. Drop me a message if you want to discuss

Second Chad and Jimbo. Really love the GM Signature range, you can't go wrong with them in performance or value for money. But then again our own forum sponsors make some stunning bats too!

Red Ink make a lovely bat and have a nice range of shapes to pick from, John is very generous with his grading too so even at G3 you'll get a nice looking stick if that's a concern!
-
Send your last bat to John Red Ink and ask him to copy it. That's what I'd do.

And you can probably get an equivalent bat made by the same manufacturer for half the price?
How do we say? Have a Hunts around?

I’d be happy to help make something up for you mate.
Plenty of options to suit all budgets!
Drop me a message if you’re interested.

I am in India currently and visiting few shops over time. Can pick something from here and post if you interested.

Oops! Sorry!
I admit I skim read these sort of threads, and have only two potential answers: 1. Go to a shop and find one that feels right in your hands. 2. John Red Ink.

Thanks all for your suggestions and offers of help. I had a message from Chris in Suffolk at Willow and Wand who has a Trad full profile (G2) he can do for me around budget. The profile is on the Insta if anyone wants to see it. Definitely be back on here if and when I fancy something else
