Title: Buying a New Bat...
Post by: billyb on June 23, 2021, 04:31:02 AM
After much deliberation (and trying to figure out what offers the best value for money over here in the states), I've settled on an SG bat. Every major online store sells them, and so the competition keeps the prices reasonable. The next closest competitor was a GM, but I'd only really want to try an Original LE and that is too many pennies.

I like pretty light bats, around 2lb 7oz to 2lb 8oz (maybe 2. 9 with a very good pickup), a full profile, and a mid to low middle.

The two bats I've identified in my price range are the SG KLR Edition and the SG Triple Crown Classic. Both are around the $350 mark.

Does anyone know much about SG or which the better option might be? The Triple Crown Classic all seem to be big bats, but I can't find too much online about the KLR edition.

I will post pictures when it arrives - and importantly, I will officially be a FKW for the first time!  :D :D

I know SG bats have notoriously bad handles, but they tend to perform and if you’ve found one you like then great.

SG bats do perform...and they do have bad handles. My friend had a really bad breakage recently. Also, not sure if its me, but I think SG bat blades are slightly thinner than other bats.

Order placed! I will let you all know what it is like, and I'll take a close look at the handle. I have a GM to compare to. I hope everyone is excited about Sunday!
