Title: Lost a friend and an amazing cricketer - raising money and awareness for CRY

Hi all,

I hope you don’t mind me posting this.

We recently lost one of the lads at our club to an undiagnosed heart condition, he was only 24 and was just casually batting in the nets before he collapsed. I Just wanted to share the link to his fundraising page if anyone would be so kind to make a donation or just spread the message far and wide to raise some awareness of Cardiac Risk in the Young which is the charity we are supporting.

I’ll donate mate,
I lost a friend 4 years ago in similar circumstances on the rugby field! Oddly enough he was called Josh as well, hope everyone involved at the club and his family are doing okay!

Sorry to hear of your loss too, I think everyone is still a little shook up tbh, I know for me it still feels pretty strange going onto the pitch where he collapsed. Fingers crossed this little challenge is another step in the process.

Sorry to hear. Had something similar happen last month. Was batting on a Saturday Was all fine then after some overs start feeling dizzy so retired then headache after. Then Sunday was feeling fine so played captained fielded 30 odd overs all fine then same went to bat was batting for some overs same thing happened so retired went hospital who done scans and said i had stroke and after some days in hospital and further tests and scans they found out it was because some artery in my neck had a blood clot something called a dissection. Ain't played since. Life is short and anything can happen.

Sunday, two weeks ago one of the oppos had right side stroke!
Very very scary!

Thats very sad to hear. Life is so short anything can happen even on cricket field.
