Hi All,
Looking to buy a Kranzbuhler made Gray Nicolls in the near future. Just wondering if any of you friendly folk have had one shipped to the UK and what sort of customs you paid on it?

It'll be pot luck on which courier brings it over and whether customs pick it up or not, but from personal experience ever since Brexit they've been a lot more stringent so expect to pay it.
Duty is 20% of the total order value, plus you'll probably pay an additional £10/20 or so in fees from the courier.

The duty will be around 220 in whatever currency you paid, converted into GBP. Plus the courier fee, which as Adam suggested, impossible to say with any conviction. But could easily be another 20-40 GBP

1100 Aus is roughly £600. You've got the cost of shipping (i imagine another £50) which often gets factored into the duty that gets calculated. 20% of £650 is £130.
Including 'processing fees' from the courier and fluctuations in exchange rates you'd have to look to budget £800 - £850 as a total cost. If it was me contemplating spending that amount on a bat, I'd ask a close friend to give my head a wobble, then I'd give roughly half that amount to Matt at Hell4Leather and get an absolute rip snorter of a blade.

Of the Aussie bats I had, I only have one the Xp80s left in my collection. But others on here probably have some Stu bats.
I got hit hard for tax when I imported one of the XPs

Kranzbuhlers aren't cheap but you don't know what you have until you use one. I have a few and I can tell you that they are nothing like other bats I own.
If you want to pursue one, I'd suggest contacting Muelemans Cricket in AUS. I'd call them directly and see if you can talk to Bob Mueleman, he will give you the right info.

There's always a few for sale on the local Gumtree or Facebook market place. I bought a GN XXX Hand Crafted last week for A$40, it's a ripper. There's a Prestige for sale at the moment for A$300, so unless you want a low density monster there's no need to spend A$1100 unless you are getting a custom order.
You only pay import duty on the declared value+freight so it all depends on the value on the paperwork.
I've had and used quite a few Australian made GN's (note just because they are made in Melbourne they are not all Kranzie's) and like any other bat maker they are not all amazing. I've got a couple of pretty average Keeley's and two very disappointing Laver's so don't imagine that GN's are any different. Having said that, the good ones are pretty special.
I'm always on the lookout for anything decent from GN here in Australia and would consider some sort of trade (cash either way) for a nice Salix Pod or Kippax. I'm not interested in anything else, I've got/had most of the others.
