Dunno about best glue, but making sure the surface is clean and flat will make life so much easier for a flush fit. Use a light mallet to hammer as the glue is setting is what GM do. Strong gorilla wood glue might be a good shout. Even thin layers allowed to dry on both guard and toe might be a good shout, like they do on table tennis paddles.

Ive always used super glue and found that it works quite well. It doesn't come off easily at all.

Don't use toe guards anymore, but when i did Superglue worked fine generally. You can hold the toe gaurd in place or tape it down with masking tape. It sets quickly tho, so no real need for tape.

Make sure the toe is clean and not rough sanded, as the superglue wil just seep in. The gel superglue may work too.

One tip i would give is to heat the toe guard up with a heat gun first (if you have one) or something similar, as it makes it more pliable and easier to fit.

I've repaired and fitted quite a few over the years Buzz and always used Evo Stick contact adhesive - The stuff where you apply it to both elements, let it dry to a tacky finish and then press together - they're still going strong now. Probably the same stuff @Butterfingerz mentioned above but mine's in a smaller tube.

Thanks, the impact adhesive seems to have worked a treat.

I simply applied a layer of shoe goo and ensured it's spread smoothly, and allowed it to dry. That's it, no toe guard needed. The glue is your toe guard. Top it up as necessary.
