CA boys or my eyes deceiving?
-
Yes, JR20 with CA seems to be a thing. Given the beautiful bats Jason uses it might be a good deal for CA.
-
Good deal for CA... just waiting for their bats to go further up in price now... the fact the Asian brands used to be such good value... that's gone out of the window in recent years... :(
-
It's not a breakthrough if AR is sponsored by CA, on the other hand JR is a big deal!
-
Who’s making J Roy’s bats atm, saw a few photos of him batting with blanks in nets can’t imagine they are CA made?
The one he’s using tonight looks pretty square, sharp edges and square toe. Plenty of seam marks on the face by the looks of it too!

When I was at Keeley a couple of years ago they made them. They also said Roy was the only guy who wanted their bats without paying for them. I'm sure he's real hard up for cash.
-
Keeley was what I thought, they do sound absolutely incredible so wouldn't be shocked.
Is he using a slightly shorter blade or is it just perspective in some of these photos?
-
CA bats do come as standard with a slightly shorter blade :)

First name terms eh? Impressive.

Why do you reckon CA is incapable of making bats for someone like Roy? Morgan uses CA, i saw 4 or 5 that came for repair they were all CA not just stickers.

Not that they're incapable but is it not a bit of an open secret that he's used Keeley for his bats and stickered them up with whichever sponsor for some time now?
Makes sense given he's based in England most of the time and, to the best of my knowledge, CA don't manufacture in the UK?
-
Doesn’t make sense what you have said above
I have no idea what Morgan uses right now or today . Next month he could use someone different and unless we’re in the England circle we won’t know
Players take bats from each other ..
Morgan could still be using Keeley but CA could easily ship him some bats too

What doesn't make sense?
I think you might have misunderstood something as I don't think anyone has suggested Eoin Morgan uses Keeley.
However, there are posts on this forum that very heavily suggest (and not just purely on guesswork) that Jason Roy used Keeley-made bats stickered as his sponsors for some time - that would make sense given they are not based all too far away from Surrey - and possibly still does.
-
As far as I know CA will not allow any player to get paid and use other makers bats, as they are as good as any other bat maker!

That would be surprising given that you can find examples of sponsored players doing exactly that for pretty much any major brand you care to name.
-
Anyone see the massive indentations on Roy’s bat yesterday in the match they were huge

:D :D Cracks me up!!! :D :D

As far as you know being based on what exactly.
It sounds like you're just making things up without actually knowing anything about the subject
-
I understand the "sticker" game that pros play. It is possible that pros using CAs maybe just putting stickers on bats made by other batmakers.
But...
And, there is always a but... :D
Having owned CAs, Keeleys, and Kranzies, I can tell you that top bats could be swapped out for another and, in terms of performance, you wouldn't know the difference. CAs are amazing bats and the ones I own slightly edge out my Keeleys - just slightly. :)
CA prices have risen a lot. You can still find great value but you'd have to hand pick bats from a big batch. Which is why, knowing a good dealer helps.
Ihsan bats are very under rated but they have awesome ping, you can get good prices. AM is a great value as well. You'd be lucky if you can land a MIDS - they are just plain awesome but also very pricey

That old chestnut. ;)
-
@InternalTraining No doubt any top bat will be good, but I'm sure there are some pros out there as fussy as we all are 😅
-
Highly likely they are very fussy but things can also change quickly as seen by stokes using Indian brands
SS etc

Wasn’t there a Pakistan player 2 or 3 years ago using a B3 stickered up as a CA??
-
Could well have been but the only b3 type player Pak have had recently was Shan
I can't see a Pak player using a b3 for long unless sponsored as a stickered bat . Pak players don't see the value in b3
-
Isn't it far more likely that they like a particular bat (most likely one belonging to a teammate) than a particular brand?
-
I’m sure most of the sponsors don’t care as long as the right stickers are on the bat.
Might of been Livingstone I think I read sponsored by Adidas but was using an SS I think he borrowed from a team mate.
Might not of got that 100 per cent but think that’s what I read
-
The Cricket Shed have 3 JR20's advertised on Instagram. £449 intro offer, usually £499
Interestingly, all 3 seemto be different profiles 🤔
-
^^
And with sticker sheets on their Instagram stories. Probably one to avoid!

Yes, that too.
It is just silly to think that a "professional" would be beholden to one "brand" bats. They swap and grab whatever feels best to them and slap stickers. In the behemoth bat days, Warner and Khawaja were using Kranzie GNs which are made exclusively by GN AUS. That was an exception simply because only GN AUS were making such big bats at the time. Other than that, it was open season on all brands stickered with sponsors' stickers.

Riyan Parag's bat.
Adidas bats may well be made by SS anyway?
-
the economics kinda is surprising. Pak players go for a Gray Nics or a GM to get more money on their contracts (e.g., Babar) and yet Eng players go the other way round. Surprising to see Pak brands have the kind of money to sponsor UK players especially with the GBP being so strong and Pak economy struggling.
-
Such big money when people know that stickers are so easily transferable?
-

Think they have an account open with a few bat makers. Because I was at Keeley the other day and overheard an instruction to contact XYZ at Adidas for payment.

I’d have thought these would be for sponsored players, I’m yet to see an off the shelf Adidas that looked keeley made!
-
Yes, I thought we're talking pro bats rather than ones for general public.
