Title: GM Players Edition James Vince
Post by: Whispering Death on March 19, 2022, 11:11:01 AM
Got a chance to buy a used James Vince players edition. Question is should I bother? - are they really that good and what's the most I should pay for a one which is a season old??

In my experience GM Player Editions are usually on the heavier side so keep that into consideration. The price depends on the condition, anything under £320 is good. They don't come around often so it's a sellers market.

Yip agree with Bungle. If its at a good weight they are awesome. I have one that was very big and about 2.10lb so useable.

Took the plunge... Is 2lb 12oz bit picks up feather light for me. Fills the gauge, ping is unreal. Slight worry about middle position for me but we'll see

I had a couple of Ben Stokes Player Edition bats over the winter. Huge bits of willow and they do pick up a lot better than the scales suggest.

If its the James Vince Players Edition Bat you picked up (and beat me to on Facebook marketplace), it looks a belter!

Have used the bat in the nets and wow!

Middle is slightly too high for me and bat is a bit too light for me - my other bats are around 2lb 15oz!

Can't post pics as Postimages have blocked me and say I've violated their terms!?

So will likely be going on the 'Bay shortly
