Title: To dowel or not to dowel?
Post by: playresumes on March 26, 2022, 08:09:41 PM
A friend has ask me to have a go a fixing the below bat.  I’ve glued it and it seems pretty solid and smooth but wondered what people thoughts are on whether to dowel.
I read through lots of posts and am quite sure on the method but have also read on the web that doweling might add a weakness.

Just wondered on thoughts? Thanks in advance

I’d def dowel it given the split and angle of it on the bat. A couple Going horizontal will only add strength to it when hitting the ball IMO

I'd certainly dowel that.

Thanks both.  Gone for doweling.  Just put 3 in the side, waiting to dry, then trim and sand.
Thanks again
