Title: pro pds cricket shot shaper
Post by: tejasapatel on April 03, 2022, 10:19:38 PM
Hey Guys,

It's been a while I've posted on here but prepping for the season and was scouting some training aid online and came across this the shot shaper linked below. Couldn't find any reviews or any info other than what's on their website, has anyone on here used one? My 10 year started playing cricket and I thought this might be something him and I both can use.

Thanks

You would be better off buying a garden net line this for that money...

On the first product, knowing my luck - I would have frame shaped chunks missing from my bat. Looks good but I don't have the talent or coordination to make something like that work  :D

Or a much cheaper version:

I absolutely would not trust myself with that with the metal so close to the ball. Did they not think of the (below) average cricketer when designing that?

I have been thinking about getting a net as well. I do have a baseball pitching machine (https://www.battingcagesinc.com/products/bata-2-pitching-machine?variant=13420422987843&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2019-02-05&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGuFi3mQYSEhRZXUZRtYh_oknhXtExQh4a53HjUBm1CxVNHqMClxzdRoCPTIQAvD_BwE (https://www.battingcagesinc.com/products/bata-2-pitching-machine?variant=13420422987843&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2019-02-05&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGuFi3mQYSEhRZXUZRtYh_oknhXtExQh4a53HjUBm1CxVNHqMClxzdRoCPTIQAvD_BwE)) that I purchased used a few years ago sitting unused for the most part and net would be the best way to put that to some use.

Must be honest- I really like the kit in the original post. I am a sucker for stuff like this, and have a nasty feeling it ends up sitting in the garage for years, but it does look good for technical practice (with an old practice bat!).

And it's a lot easier than trying to get a bit of my lawn flat enough to bowl on to use the nets!

I feel like if it was height adjustable it could be more viable as it seems a bit limited to only one angle really.

I feel my old ball in an old sock hanging from the garage beams is better than the static ball on the metal frame.
Each swing of the ball is different and gets the feet moving. Also gets faster the more momentum you give the ball.
