Title: New Batting Pads Advice
Post by: Slyboogy on June 10, 2022, 11:24:26 AM
Hi All,

Been a very long time since I've been on here!

I have returned to cricket and it looks like I will be batting a lot more this season compared to previous seasons. My last pads were Kookaburra Bubble which I bought back in 2014 for £20.

I was wondering if anyone is able to give advice on what are good pads to get and if £50-60 is a reasonable budget? I understand there's a few levels such as pro, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Which is the best value for money and worth spending on?

I'm sure there are plenty of topics like this so I do apologise!

Budget depends on what features you want. Personally I'd look to spend round about £80 and get all the comfort features - towelled straps, padding on the buckles, proper knee padding and hard wearing material at the bottom of each pad so they don't tear so easily.

I use Neon pads and have to say they are excellent. CBF discount code will take a fair whack off the price and they now offer a more budget friendly range too which, with discount, will be just a little over your stated budget. Really comfortable, well made and mine have lasted two seasons with constant use.

Thanks buddy, are you able to send a link and the discount code? What brand are the Neons?

Also other suggestions from yourself or others are appreciated!

No worries! Neon Cricket is the brand, they're part owned by Ian Bell I believe and they're a regular poster on this forum and one of the forum sponsors.
