Title: Chingford Cricket Club - Cricket Week
Post by: Thorne_Cricket on June 23, 2022, 08:39:31 AM
Good morning all,

I have been given permission by Chingford Cricket Club's committee to arrange food, activities, events, entertainment and raffle during their cricket week from Monday 4th July 2022 to Friday 8th July.

Following cricket week being cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, we did have cricket week last season but it wasn't much of a spectacle; that's why this season, I want to make it one to remember.

I am hoping to arrange a food truck/BBQs for after the games as most evenings would involve many players, spectators et cetera partaking in liquid refreshment and they would need something to eat.

We will be looking at activities like penalty shootout and golf chipping contest.

We will be selling raffle tickets throughout the week and on Friday we will make the draw and hoping we have prizes that could be from professional players that have played at the club from Daniel Lawrence and Jamie Porter.

I was wondering if anyone else does anything like this with their club; it would be interesting to hear what you do et cetera as we are trying to make this season's cricket week unforgettable.

We've started having an ice cream man at our All Stars training on a friday night, we split the profit with the guy and even then it's a few hundred quid for not much effort!
Or buy a freezer and go to costco and fill it with ice lolly's etc.. I'm surprised a lot more club don't do this considering it's a summer sport.

Thank you; this is a wonderful idea; I have mentioned this to our colts committee.
