Hi guys, just wondered which everyone preferred in their gloves. Which do you think last longer and stay supple for longer?
-
I like the thicker palms of sheepskin or calf skin, but it really is a personal preference thing.
-
Have you found that their longevity is similar aswell?
-
I don't like sheepskin. Find it too spongy and it tears to bits after minimal use.
Calfskin is fine from the packet but I have incredibly sweaty hands and moisture on calfskin very quickly hardens the leather and reduces grip
Definitely pittards for me

Exactly this.
I also find I get a better feel on the grip/bat with pittards than the other thicker/spongy leathers.
What you also have to put into the equation though is the grip type you are using as I find some will also tear up gloves more than others eg. GM Hex or Octopus.

I’m a huge fan of pittard palms due to being a big sweater, the best pittard’s I think are the quartz pittard palms as they dry out better and last so much longer
-
Another sweaty hand batter - so pittards hold up better
-
If the gloves are comfortable and I can feel the bat handle properly, it really doesn't make a difference.

I wouldn’t buy a pair of gloves without pittards, obviously as @Buzz alluded it’s a personal preference
