Hello,
I am planning to round-toe my square-toe GN Omega 5.5. I have a sander but have never done this before. Would rounding off the toe alter the ping of the bat? Theoretically, would it improve the balance? The bat is bottom-heavy.
Thank you

Can't see why it would affect the ping or performance at all.
Would have thought a slightly improved balance as you're removing weight from the bottom of the bat.

Don't think it will make any difference to it's balance.

Shouldn't affect ping - balance will be affected, but whether or not it will be noticeable depends on how much you take off. I doubt it will be enough to balance out a poorly balanced bat, unless you round it a fair bit.

It could help prevent cracking near the edges of the toe when you round it but as others have mentioned, it won't really affect performance or ping.

I have done this to several of my bats, I felt like it improved the balance a little but that may have been psychological! Certainly didn't make it worse or affect the performance though.

thank you, folks! I rounded the toe using an orbital sander (120 grit and then 220). I weighed as I progressed; remove the rubber toe guard (9gms) and then the sanding took off another 9gm. So overall I lost 18gms and slightly improved the bat balance.
