I reckon it’s been 8 years since I was last at H4L when we took a CBF team down to play during Matt’s cricket week.

I made the return today and made the 400 mile round trip. Great to catch up with Matt and chew the cricket industry fat over a cuppa and a Jaffa cake. As you’d expect there was an infinite choice of bats to wave around and drool over and I managed to narrow it down to a few in each profile to stock to give people a chance to view the range.

With the Wardbird, Mid, Low and players profiles on offer there was some lovely grains and huge profiles to pick from. Looking forward to receiving them all full dressed with the new colourful array of stickers from the range.

Matts a good bloke and makes some lovely bats. The kind of business/batmaker who should be supported and does things the right way imo.

Yes some lovely colour combos amongst them, the bats I picked will have a selection across the range of them to show them all off.

400 mile round trip for some lovely wood and a Jaffa cake- sounds like a day out! Great stuff and I’m sure they will sell well!

It’s the excuse I needed to be able to go an ogle willow once again 😂

Being able to get out on the road and catch up with people face to face is something you took for granted before covid came along. Now we’re able to it’s great to catch up with people I’ve know for a while and meet people for the first time in some cases having only spoke to them on the phone or on zoom calls.

It also gives me the insight into their processes, set-ups and the chance to view their ranges and pick out a few special pieces of willow I’d otherwise have missed out on 😁
